Hotheads is a highly innovative hair extension line that provides a beautiful and natural look without damage to your hair or hours of your time spent at the salon.
This new method uses 100% human hair and doesn’t involve glue, beads, wefts, braiding or weaving. These hair extensions have been created to stay in and protect the hair. They are also easily removable with the proper solutions and have minimal to no damage on hair.
Hotheads are the most comfortable and undetectable extensions on the market. There is no matting, frizzing or tangling, and they are much more affordable than most extensions.
Whether you are looking for a boost of youth and vibrancy by adding volume, or you desire an entirely new star quality look by adding several inches of length, our extensions are the perfect solution.
I love the flexibility of this method when it comes to styling, longevity of wear, and the level of fullness that can be achieved. Hand Tied extensions have a broad range of capabilities from corrective placement solutions, to building slight to heavy length and/or fullness. This method uses beads and string to create a “track” and then the long wefts of hair are sewn to the track. 1-6 long wefts are sewn to each track depending on the client’s hair and desired outcome and are placed in a way that follows the natural contours of the head. I custom color the extensions and choose beads and string to match your natural hair/color palette so there is no visible distinction between your natural hair and the extensions. When it’s time for a move up, the string is cut, the beads are loosened, and the wefts are removed with ease.
This method is one of the quickest, most lightweight, and perhaps the most cost effective option for extensions. My favorite way to utilize tape ins are for creative color options, balancing uneven cuts or filling in sparse areas, and creating slight to moderate length and/or fullness. The application process entails using 2 slim wefts, measuring approximately 1.5” each, that are sandwiched above and below a fine slice of your natural hair. The sandwiches are then placed throughout the head in a way that accomplishes our goals and still allows you to wear your hair up or down without being seen. Due to the structure of the weft, I choose to match the extensions to your color palette by purchasing 1-4 different colors that will work in harmony with your palette instead of coloring the extensions. The tape is made of a medical grade adhesive and can easily be removed, including all residue, without compromising the integrity of your hair when done by a professional.
Where does the hair come from? Is it human hair?
Hotheads Extensions are 100% cuticle on remy human hair, meaning the cuticle is intact and the hair is all placed facing the same direction. Benefits to this are minimal to no matting and tangling.
How long do the extensions last?
The extensions last 8-10 weeks depending on your hair growth and climate. They can be reapplied up to 3 times.
Can you color it?
Yes. There are 20 colors that can be blended to create up to 400 different shades.
Can you iron, curl or blow dry the hair?
All of these heat processes are okay; however, it is not advised to sit under a dryer with Hot Heads or to isolate or concentrate any heat methods on the area with the tape tabs.
What products can be used in the hair?
You can use almost any products that you like and your stylist will recommend the best products to care for your new hair. Products to avoid are any products that contain alcohol, oil or ethanol. In addition, heavy conditioners should not be applied to the scalp or tape tabs.
Can roots be retouched while the extensions are in the hair?
Yes, but we highly recommended that any root touchups be performed by a salon professional to ensure that the extensions are not harmed in the coloring process.
